DB2 by default will have a event monitor running which detects and logs details on deadlocks events.

Normally you can access the deadlock event monitor via the IBM command centre but occasionally it does not show as a listed monitor (a bug!).

The output of deadlocks is written to the event log log file which is a binary file. To format the file use the command db2evmon -path c:\logfiledirectory >  outputfile.txt
